At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 5.4% compared to 2023, reaching 19.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Germany ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.8% (from 18.0% in 2019).
