At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 22.3% compared to 2023, reaching 12.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Belgium ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 22.8% (from 15.8% in 2019).
