In 2017, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.9% compared to 2016, reaching 17.1%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.
Germany ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.6% (from 17.2% in 2012).
