In 2018, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.8% compared to 2017, reaching 16.8%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.
Germany ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.3% (from 17.2% in 2013).
