In 2016, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.4% compared to 2015, reaching 15.2%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.8%.
Germany ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.0% (from 14.9% in 2011).
