Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.1% compared to 2015, reaching 14.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.0%.

Germany ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 19.4% (from 12.5% in 2011).
