In 2017, Hungary's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 14.2% compared to 2016, reaching 80,335.

Hungary ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 49.5% (from 159,047 in 2012).
