In 2022, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 8.1% compared to 2021, reaching 59,293.

Romania ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 38.3% (from 96,154 in 2017).
