In 2023, Hungary's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 4.8% compared to 2022, reaching 50,934.

Hungary ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 20.7% (from 64,190 in 2018).
