At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2016, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 3.7% compared to 2015, reaching 16.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Ireland ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.5% (from 15.2% in 2011).
