In 2021, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.0% compared to 2020, reaching 12.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Ireland ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 23.8% (from 16.8% in 2016).
