Employment rates by citizenship

In 2021, Ireland's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.5% compared to 2020, reaching 74.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 73.3%.

Ireland ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.5% (from 71.8% in 2016).
