Population structure indicators at national level

In 2020, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.8% compared to 2019, reaching 38.0.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 43.9.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.0% (from 36.2 in 2015).
