Population structure indicators at national level

In 2017, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 2.7% compared to 2016, reaching 22.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 32.9.

Ireland ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.8% (from 19.6 in 2012).
