Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2015, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 14.2% compared to 2014, reaching 5.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 6.8%.

Ireland ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 138.5% (from 2.5% in 2010).
