Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 13.2% compared to 2015, reaching 5.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.2%.

Ireland ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 34.2% (from 3.8% in 2011).
