Employment rates by educational attainment level

In 2019, Ireland's employment rates by educational attainment level increased by 0.7% compared to 2018, reaching 85.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.2%.

Ireland ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.5% (from 81.1% in 2014).
