In 2013, Ireland's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 7.6% compared to 2012, reaching 26,291.

Ireland ranks 14th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.1% (from 25,262 in 2008).
