In 2020, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 0.5% compared to 2019, reaching 20.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Italy ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.5% (from 19.9% in 2015).
