At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2020, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 5.3% compared to 2019, reaching 23.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Bulgaria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.2% (from 22.0% in 2015).
