In 2022, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.6% compared to 2021, reaching 18.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.6%.

Italy ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.6% (from 19.4% in 2017).
