Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Italy's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.9% compared to 2024, reaching 53.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Italy ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.8% (from 49.0% in 2020).
