Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Italy's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.5% compared to 2023, reaching 53.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 66.2%.

Italy ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.2% (from 50.2% in 2019).
