Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2010, Latvia's population change decreased by 8.7% compared to 2009, reaching 9.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.4.

Latvia ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.1% (from 9.8 in 2005).
