Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Latvia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.7% compared to 2023, reaching 81.2.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1.

Latvia ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.4% (from 80.1 in 2019).
