Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Lithuania's life expectancy by age and sex decreased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 81.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1.

Lithuania ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.5% (from 81.2 in 2019).
