Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2021, Luxembourg's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.2% compared to 2020, reaching 24.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.7%.

Luxembourg ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 23.5% (from 19.6% in 2016).
