Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2014, Luxembourg's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 28.0% compared to 2013, reaching 4.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.4%.

Luxembourg ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 52.6% (from 2.9% in 2009).
