Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Luxembourg's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 2.8% compared to 2008, reaching 2.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 4.9%.

Luxembourg ranks 16th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1518.1% (from 0.1% in 2004).
