Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 53.3% compared to 2008, reaching 4.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 4.9%.

Netherlands ranks 8th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 787.4% (from 0.5% in 2004).
