At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2018, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 2.0% compared to 2017, reaching 25.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Malta ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 70.5% (from 14.9% in 2013).
