At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.4% compared to 2024, reaching 28.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.3%.

Malta ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.9% (from 26.3% in 2020).
