Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2020, Malta's population change increased by 8.2% compared to 2019, reaching 7.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.6.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.6% (from 7.7 in 2015).
