Fertility indicators

In 1997, Malta's fertility indicators decreased by 3.0% compared to 1996, reaching 1.93.

Malta ranks 1st out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.8% (from 2.07 in 1992).
