Fertility indicators

In 1998, Malta's fertility indicators decreased by 4.7% compared to 1997, reaching 1.84.

Malta ranks 2nd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.1% (from 1.96 in 1993).
