Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2007, Malta's population change increased by 14.3% compared to 2006, reaching 1.6.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 0.6.

Malta ranks 10th out of 17 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 30.4% (from 2.3 in 2002).
