Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1998, Malta's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 0.8% compared to 1997, reaching 8,417.

Malta ranks 26th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.7% (from 7,400 in 1993).
