In 2022, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 2.6% compared to 2021, reaching 896.

Malta ranks 23rd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 29.3% (from 1,267 in 2017).
