Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 25.7% compared to 2009, reaching 3.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 5.5%.

Netherlands ranks 16th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 580.8% (from 0.5% in 2005).
