At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2020, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 5.8% compared to 2019, reaching 16.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 16.9% (from 19.5% in 2015).
