At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 2.4% compared to 2023, reaching 16.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.2%.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.5% (from 17.2% in 2019).
