In 2014, Portugal's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 4.1% compared to 2013, reaching 91,041.

Portugal ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.9% (from 121,199 in 2009).
