Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Portugal's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 70.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 66.2%.

Portugal ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.3% (from 67.5% in 2019).
