Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2022, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 7.5% compared to 2021, reaching 6.2%.

The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 6.2%.

Portugal ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 32.6% (from 9.2% in 2017).
