Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 5.6% compared to 2020, reaching 6.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.1%.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 41.7% (from 11.5% in 2016).
