Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2023, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age increased by 6.8% compared to 2022, reaching 20.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.6%.

Portugal ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.5% (from 20.2% in 2018).
