Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2023, Romania's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 4.4% compared to 2022, reaching 21.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.6%.

Romania ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.3% (from 20.5% in 2018).
