At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 11.5% compared to 2023, reaching 26.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.3%.

Romania ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 14.9% (from 30.8% in 2019).
