At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 9.9% compared to 2024, reaching 23.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Romania ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 21.6% (from 30.1% in 2020).
