Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Romania's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 4.0% compared to 2006, reaching 11.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Romania ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 52.0% (from 24.8% in 2002).
